About this course

You have booked AZ-802, or you are about to. AZ-800 and AZ-801 retired on 30 September 2026, so this one exam is now the way to Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator Associate. The question is simple: are you ready?

These practice tests help you answer it. There are four tests, 50 questions each - 200 in total - written from Microsoft's public skills outline for AZ-802. Every question is tied to one objective from that outline, so when you get one wrong, you know exactly what to revise.

What makes the explanations usefulEach answer tells you why the right option is right and why each wrong option is wrong. The wrong options are where most of the learning is: they are real features, cmdlets and settings that an administrator could easily pick by mistake. How the tests are builtTest 1 - AD DS and hybrid management: domain controllers, RODCs, FSMO roles, sites, replication, trusts, service accounts, Group Policy, Windows Admin Center, PowerShell remoting and JEA, SSH, Remote Desktop, Azure Arc, Azure Update Manager and Automation runbooks.

Test 2 - Virtual machines, networking and security: Hyper-V hosts and guests, Azure VMs, DNS and DHCP on-premises and hybrid, and securing Windows Server and AD DS - Windows LAPS, App Control for Windows, Credential Guard, exploit protection, password policies, Protected Users and more. Test 3 - Storage, monitoring and troubleshooting: Azure Files and Azure File Sync, SMB and SMB over QUIC, FSRM, DFS, Storage Spaces Direct, Storage Replica, BitLocker, Performance Monitor, System Insights, Azure Monitor, and troubleshooting Windows Server and Active Directory. Test 4 - Full mock exam: 50 mixed questions, weighted like the official skills outline, timed at 120 minutes like the real exam.

Questions use single-answer and "choose two" formats. "Choose two" is always stated in the question. Versions: Windows Server 2025 (2022 where a question says so), Windows PowerShell 5.

1 and PowerShell 7, and Azure services as they stand in October 2026. The answers were checked against Microsoft's documentation in October 2026. Please note: these are original questions written by an instructor.

They are not exam questions and do not come from the exam. This course is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft.

GRID Exam Prep: GIAC Response and Industrial Defense #2

Adrian Găitan

The second time you see a question, you are often recalling the answer rather than reasoning to it. That is the single biggest weakness of practicing on one question bank, and it is why scores on a re-sit look better than exam day does. This is Volume 2. Five more timed practice tests, 430 new questions, nothing carried over from Volume 1.Same scope, same difficulty, different questionsCoverage follows the same seven GRID objectives at the same weighting, so your score here is directly comparable to your Volume 1 score. If your Volume 1 result was real understanding, it holds. If it was memory, this set will say so quickly.Every question is single-best-answer, matching GIAC's format, and every question is followed by an explanation that names the reasoning, the failed distractor and the objective area to revisit. What the questions coverActive defense as GIAC defines it, and what the major ICS incidents changed about defensive postureDetection and analysis of network security evidence inside an industrial environmentAsset awareness and visibility where active scanning is restricted or forbiddenMonitoring against real protocol behavior: Modbus function codes, DNP3, OPC UA security modes, S7 COTP parameters, IEC 104 and EtherNet/IP CIP servicesIncident response and forensics on controllers, engineering workstations and historians, with safety and uptime as hard constraintsThreat hunting, hypothesis building and malware analysis applied to OT toolingThreat intelligence, from consuming a report to shipping a detectionHow to work through itTake one test per study session under real time pressure. Score it, then read every explanation, including on the questions you answered correctly, because a correct guess and a correct answer look identical on a score report and nowhere else. Track which of the seven objectives your misses cluster in. Study that objective, then move to the next test.Across both volumes that gives you ten full timed sittings and 860 questions, which is enough repetition that exam format, pacing and question phrasing stop costing you points and the only thing being tested is what you actually know. Please note: this is an independently produced preparation course. It is not affiliated with, authorized by, endorsed by or sponsored by GIAC or the SANS Institute. All questions are original study material, not actual exam items. Confirm the current number of questions, time limit, passing score and permitted materials for your specific attempt in your own GIAC account before exam day.

GRID Exam Prep: GIAC Response and Industrial Defense #1

Most candidates lose GRID points in one of two places. They know industrial systems well but answer like an enterprise IT analyst, reaching for isolation and reimaging when the process is still running. Or they know security theory but have never had to weigh a containment decision against a turbine that cannot be stopped. These five practice tests are designed to surface both problems while you still have time to fix them. What is inside430 original single-best-answer questions across five timed practice tests. No multi-select, no fill-in-the-blank, because that is not how GIAC writes this exam. Every question carries a written explanation covering why the correct answer is correct, why the most tempting wrong answer fails, and which objective area the question belongs to, so you know exactly what to go back and read.CoverageQuestions are distributed across the seven official GRID objectives, grouped the way GIAC groups them on its own certification page:Active defense in an ICS environment, including what Stuxnet, Industroyer, TRITON and Industroyer2 taught defendersDetection in an ICS environmentVisibility and asset awareness, including passive discovery where scanning is prohibitedMonitoring, with real ICS protocol behavior: Modbus function codes, DNP3, OPC UA, S7comm, IEC 104, EtherNet/IP and CIPIncident response and forensics under industrial constraints, including PLC and engineering workstation evidenceThreat hunting and analysis, including malware analysis applied to OT toolingThreat intelligence and how to operationalize it rather than file itRoughly a third of the questions are direct knowledge, close to half are applied scenarios where you decide the next action, and the rest ask you to interpret a log excerpt, a protocol snippet or an asset inventory and say what it shows. How to use itTake test one cold. Score it, read every explanation including on questions you answered correctly, and write down the objectives where you guessed. Study those, then take the next test. By test five you should be scoring consistently rather than scoring well once.Volume 2 of this series adds five more tests and 430 more questions at the same scope and difficulty, for a second full pass closer to exam day.

GSEC Exam Prep: Practice Exams GIAC Security Essentials #1

Adrian Găitan

This course contains 5 full-length GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) practice exams, 530 questions in total, built to mirror the real GSEC exam in length, structure, and style as closely as possible in a self-study format. Each practice exam contains 106 questions, matching the real exam's question count, and is organized across seven topic clusters that approximate GIAC's 26 official GSEC objectives: Defense in Depth & Access Control; Networking, Architecture & Wireless; Web, Virtualization, Cloud & Endpoint Security; Incident Handling, Vulnerability Management, Malware, Logging & Frameworks; Cryptography; Linux; and Windows. You'll find a mix of question styles that reflect the real exam: direct technical knowledge questions, applied scenario-based questions written from the perspective of a working security administrator or analyst, concept and terminology identification, compare-and-select questions (like HIDS vs. HIPS or symmetric vs. asymmetric encryption), and troubleshooting/root-cause questions. Each exam also includes at least 12 CyberLive-style questions, text-based command output, log excerpts, firewall rules, and configuration snippets for you to interpret, approximating (though not replacing) the real hands-on CyberLive lab component of the actual exam.Every question includes the correct answer and a clear, concise explanation of why that answer is right and why the leading distractor is wrong. Explanations also name the general GSEC topic area involved, so you can build or refine your own open-book tabbed index across your course materials as you go, since GSEC is an open-book exam, this kind of index-building is a core part of real exam-day strategy.Sub-topics are not repeated across the 5 exams in this course, so every practice attempt introduces genuinely new material rather than rephrasing the same questions. This course is not affiliated with or endorsed by GIAC or the SANS Institute; it is independent practice material designed to complement your official study resources, not replace them.Continue your practice with Course #2 in this series, which contains 5 additional full-length exams covering different sub-topics across the same 26 objectives.
